"Torch are quick to pick up on the ethos of each project and are able to match their design style to exactly what we had in mind, but with additional creative flair and originality... Steve and Kathy are unfailingly helpful and innovative; a pleasure to work with."

  • Client: Wiltshire Wildlife Trust
  • Brief: Codford Community Wildlife Area display boards and signage

The Codford Community Wildlife Area is a a piece of land that has been reclaimed from an old allotment site situated just behind Wylye Valley School in Codford, Wiltshire. The project is a partnership between Wiltshire Rural Housing Association and Wiltshire Wildlife and also includes a site where eco-houses have been built.

The ideas for a series of boards, to be positioned throughout the site, were developed during a workshop with the children of Wylye Valley School, along with Dean Sherwin from the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Steve Dixon from Torch. The children wanted their boards to be fun and interactive and put forward the idea of a spinning disc which to contain wildlife poems written by the children themselves.
